I am the Tower Lead for Global Supply Chain & Strategy (GSC&S) and External Supply Manufacturing (ESM) at our Global Innovation & Technology Centre in Guadalajara, Mexico. I am accountable for building and leading a high performing team that supports our Global Operations as we focus on our digital journey to support the company’s bold ambition by 2030 and continue to deliver our life-changing medicines to our patients worldwide.

Our GSC&S and ESM teams in Guadalajara are co-located with Global IT. I am fostering a strong collaboration between our teams by promoting the use of data analytics, data science and artificial intelligence to support our journey towards realising our world-class supply chain.

Over the course of nearly two decades at AstraZeneca, I have led diverse areas and projects, from capital expenditure, new product launches, technology transfer and supply chain establishment. Although the projects can all be really different in nature, all of them were always focused on our patients.

I am passionate about developing our people and building high performing teams, ensuring that we all have a clear understanding of our strategic direction and helping everybody to understand how their day-to-day activities help us achieve our bold ambition and improve patients’ lives.

I earned a post-graduate degree in Process Industry Business Management from the University of Warwick, UK and a bachelor’s degree in industrial Robotics Engineering from the National Polytechnic Institute, Mexico.

What excites me the most about my work is being part of a team that leverages digital and AI to take smart decisions, creating a self-healing supply chain that is ready for the future challenges in a volatile and complex environment, and ensuring that we keep delivering our life changing medicines to the millions of patients worldwide on time.

Created and implemented the business case to transfer the packaging of a blockbuster medicine to a manufacturing site in Mexico, doubling the growth of the Mexican market and reaching over one million patients with type-2 diabetes (2021-2023)

Made for the World – Our Vaccine Commitment

Established the Latin American supply chain for our COVID vaccine. Supported the delivery of over 100 million doses to patients in the Latin American region. (2020-2022)

Manufacturing Site Technology Upgrade

Led the transformation of technology at our manufacturing site in Lomas Verdes, Mexico. Upgraded existing packaging technology with state-of-the-art equipment; transferred a portfolio of over 200 SKUs without any supply disruptions and delivered productivity benefits. (2015-2019)
