Since beginning my career at AstraZeneca, and across diverse geographies and roles, I have had the opportunity to build and collaborate with strong teams and phenomenal people. Together, we have had the chance to bring forward life-changing medicines for patients across AstraZeneca’s main therapeutic areas.
In my current role as Senior Vice President of our Global Respiratory & Immunology franchise, I am focused on setting the strategy for our existing and future medicines in asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) as well as other immunology-mediated conditions including rheumatology, dermatology and gastroenterology. Here, we have set bold ambitions: to eliminate preventable asthma attacks, remove COPD as one of the leading causes of death, and achieve disease modification and durable remission across the different disease areas where we focus on.
Prior to my current role, I led our operations across nine countries as Senior Vice-President of the Western and Southern Europe Area, as well as our Regional Commercial team for Europe and Canada. Through my career, first in Latin America and then in Europe, I have had the chance to learn from varied cultures and business environments, which has given me different perspectives on how to best approach some of the growing challenges we face.
I feel passionate about the opportunity to reinvent healthcare; to re-think the way we enable access to innovation, to redesign clinical pathways and to embed data and digital technology in daily practice.
In my previous role, in collaboration with my team in Israel, we launched BeyondBio, a Bio-venture Hub conceived to enable the design of innovative solutions and drive the acceleration of start-ups in the field of digital health. The initiative includes developing next-generation device connectivity solutions to help patients living with respiratory conditions to achieve better disease control and reduce preventable acute events
Today, I feel inspired to work in Respiratory & Immunology, but also humbled and committed to continue to innovate in disease areas that impact around one billion patients around the world.
It is an exciting time to work in Respiratory & Immunology at AstraZeneca, as we accelerate our pipeline and reimagine what is possible for people living with these potentially devastating conditions. We have an opportunity to make a profound difference, not only through breakthrough science, but also by completely transforming the patient’s experience.
